What are you required to do?

There are six key stages of meeting Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requirements.

Undertake an initial estimate of your total energy consumption.
Identify areas of significant energy consumption and prioritise areas with significant energy saving opportunities.
Consider and choose the most appropriate routes for compliance.
Assign a lead assessor to conduct and/or supervise your energy audits.
Get the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) assessment signed off at the director/board level.
Submit a formal notification to Environmental Agency (EA) confirming compliance by the due date.

Identification of Energy Reduction Opportunities (ERO)

To ensure compliance, the audit must:

Identify energy intensive areas
Cover at least 95% of the total energy use
Define energy use profiles
Include the fuel consumption of any company-owned or leased vehicles
Measure and audit the fuel used within the business
Identify energy-saving opportunities and calculate the potential energy/cost savings
